Cambuur manager Booy hit by cerebral infarction

Foeke Booy has had to relinquish his duties at SC Cambuur for the time being. The technical manager of the club promoted to the Eredivisie was hit on Sunday by a cerebral infarction, the Frisian football club reports.

Booy is in the hospital, where he is being examined.

Reasonable under circumstances

According to Cambuur, the technical manager is doing reasonably well under the circumstances. It is not yet known how long his recovery will take. Booy’s duties are provisionally taken over by financial director Gerald van den Belt.

Booy has been working at Cambuur since 2018. He was also a trainer of FC Utrecht, Sparta, Cercle Brugge and Go Ahead Eagles.
