Big trouble in Hessen – tennis uprising against this ball – sports mix

With this “green” ball everyone sees black …

GIANT TENNIS UPRISING AGAINST THE NEW ECO FELT BALL IN HESSEN!

What happened? For the current season, the Hessian Tennis Association (HTV) introduced a new competition ball, the “HTV TRINITI PRO” from “Wilson”. The idea behind it: The ball is more environmentally friendly because it is not – as usual – packed in vacuum aluminum cans, but in waste paper.

Every (hobby) tennis player knows or knew it: When the air hisses out when the can is opened and the rubber smell rises in the nose. And once again you managed not to cut your fingers on the sharp lid. The players will certainly accept that this feeling is being taken away from them in order to counteract the consumption of plastic.

But the ball itself has also been redesigned with new plastic and felt. And should be more sustainable.

Problem: The tournament and Meden players complain of pressureless balls that are quickly flat and cause arm and shoulder pain. Wrong: If other balls are played at official competitions in Hessen, there is a risk of a fine.

A petition has now been launched to quickly abolish the “green” ball.

The HTV explains in a statement: “With the new competition ball, we want to reduce the burden on the environment by over 100,000 cans of plastic waste per year. This was and will continue to be our aim. We are sorry if we overshot the mark in our endeavors. “

The association called on all players to take a survey to work on the development of the ball. So it is possible that the “green” ball will soon run out of steam for good …
