Basketball FIBA ​​Champions League draw bags announced

ANKARA (AA) – Basketball Clubs participating in the draw for the FIBA ​​Champions League 2021-2022 season baghave become clear.

According to the statement made by FIBA, the bags of 28 teams that will directly participate in the regular season draw were determined in line with the Champions League club and country rankings.

Turkish clubs to compete in the tournament Besiktas Icrypex and Pinar Karsiyaka 2nd, Darüşşafaka Tekfen, Galatasaray and TOFAŞ and the 3rd bag will participate in the drawing of lots.

The draw will take place on Wednesday, July 7, at the Patrick Baumann Basketball House in Mies, Switzerland.

In the statement, information was also given about the format change in the organization, where 32 teams will compete, 4 of which will come from the pre-selection.

Among the clubs that will be distributed to 8 groups of four, those who finish the regular season in the first place will advance to the round of 16. The teams that take the 2nd and 3rd places in the groups will play the play-in tournament. 8 teams that have achieved 2 wins in the matches will go to the last 16 rounds.

Teams that complete the last 16 rounds in 4 groups of four in the top 2 places will have their names written in the quarter-finals. The clubs that achieved 2 wins in the quarter-finals will participate in the final four, which is planned to be held in May.
