Aurora and Francesca Tognetti close to the podium in the relay – OA Sport

They started today, in Nizhny Novgorod (Russia), the 2021 European Senior Championships in modern pentathlon. The continental event opened its doors with the proof of the women’s relay, e Italy immediately grazed a medal.

Aurora and Francesca Tognetti of the CS Carabinieri, in fact, they are classified al fourth place with 1362 points. The race was won by Belarus with Volha Silikina and Anastasiya Prokopenko (1430 points), second place Poland with Marta Kobecka and Natalia Jolanta Dominiak (1391 points) while third place went to Russia with Uliana Batashova and Anna Buriak (1382 points).

For the Tognetti sisters: 292 points from swimming, 211 from fencing, 279 from horse riding and 580 from laser run, for a total of 1362. Fifth place for the Czech Republic with Barbora Rajnoch and Anna Roubickova with 1339 points, while she finished sixth in theHungary with Sarolta Kovacs and Blanka Guzi with 1089 points.

Tomorrow the program of the European Championships includes the men’s relay in which Giuseppe Mattia Parisi (Carabinieri) and Roberto Micheli (Fiamme Oro) will participate.
