BOLASPORT.COM – The failure to win a medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics has become the most valuable lesson in the career journey of the senior Indonesian men’s doubles pair, Mohammad Ahsan / Hendra Setiawan.

Having parted ways for about a year after failing miserably in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan agreed to restart their cooperation in the field in early 2018.

The Singapore Open 2018 title is a sign that the strength of Ahsan / Hendra as a men’s doubles pair has not been exhausted.

A year later, the duo, nicknamed The Daddies, made an even more impressive achievement, breaking through the 10 final rounds of the BWF World Tour tournament.

Of the 10 opportunities to become finalists, Ahsan/Hendra successfully won three titles, namely the All England Open 2019, New Zealand Open 2019, and BWF World Tour Finals.

In addition, Ahsan/Hendra also reached the final round of the 2019 BWF World Championship and came out victorious.

Now, Ahsan/Hendra is firmly ranked second in the world, under their junior partner, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo.

They also qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with the status of second seed.
