Aaron Rodgers said no to the Packers

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers turned down a two-year contract extension from the Green Bay Packers in the offseason that would have made him the highest-paid player in the NFL.

This is what the ESPN network said on Tuesday. Had he accepted the offer, the 37-year-old veteran would have been linked with the Packers for the next five campaigns. However, his dissatisfaction has been widely mentioned by the American media and the future of number 12 could well go through another organization in the coming years, especially as the Packers have selected the pivot Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 draft.

Also, this choice had not really pleased Rodgers, who also reportedly expressed his displeasure to several members of the club about the management. He also reportedly asked to be traded, a wish GM Brian Gutekunst doesn’t seem to want to grant.

“I will enjoy the next week enormously and then I will go back to train, then I will find a solution in a few weeks”, had mentioned the athlete to the daily “USA Today” about ten days ago.

The 2020 NFL MVP missed the Packers’ mandatory mini-camp in June and regular camp attendees will have to report to Wisconsin roster next week.
