The Montreal fans could hardly have asked for better, or even been able to predict such a result for this meeting. Mason Toye and Ahmed Hamdi both scored doubles.

The Egyptian will quickly become one of the favorites of the Montreal crowd. Hamdi took on the air of Nacho Piatti by dribbling the entire Cincinnati defense to tie the game 4-4 in the 74th minute. At the very end of the game, he once again made his magic speak to allow CF Montreal to snatch the three points.

When he left the campaign for the first time, Joaquin Torres was employed as a striker alongside Toye. The Argentinian proved his coach right by scoring in the 34th minute. His American friend was the spark plug for each of the local team’s comebacks (21st and 76th, on penalty).

James Pantemis was rather shaky, especially early in the game. Cincinnati scored all four goals in the first 46 minutes, on four initial shots on target. The Quebec goalkeeper was even played a trick when Brenner had stolen a ball on a moment of hesitation.

The Brazilian striker found the back of the net twice, while Haris Medunjanin and Gustavo Vallecilla did it once each.

This is the Montreal team’s first victory over Cincinnati in four duels. The club has finally defeated its pet peeve.
