3×3 basketball: the DRC and Mali sacred

The 4th edition of the U18 international 3×3 basketball tournament, called “Salamatou Maïga” took place this Sunday July 18 in Kinshasa. As in the last edition organized in Mali in 2018, the DRC, among boys and Mali, among girls were crowned champions.

In the men’s category, four countries took part in the competition. The DRC retained its title by beating Mali in the final (20-15). While The Gambia finished third. She has indeed beaten the Comoros (18-8) in the 3rd place match.

After this new title, the DRC totals two titles out of four. It therefore equals Mali which had won the first two editions.

Among the women, only three countries were in the race to succeed Mali, the big favorite. The Malians unsurprisingly won the trophy for the fourth time in as many editions. They dominated the Gambia in the final (18-8).
