Almost every day we offer our surfers the opportunity to ask a question to a Red Devil. On Tuesday it was Thorgan Hazard’s turn to formulate answers.
Thorgan Hazard shot Portugal home on Sunday evening. After his goal, he made a movement with his fingers. What did that mean?
“It’s something I learned in Dortmund. It represents a hunter and a rabbit. Try it, Ruben.”
Our reporter Ruben Van Gucht had to think for a while, but it worked. Thorgan: “Nice job! I’ve seen a lot worse (laughs).”
“Strong with Eden, but also with Yannick”
Another surfer’s question: what is the power of a team to have two brothers on the team and still on the same flank?
Thorgan: “Eden and I know each other very well, of course. I know what Eden likes and what not. That’s a strength. You have automatisms.”
“We have a good relationship on the field, but I also have that when I play with Yannick Carrasco, for example.”
“Look: we have a fantastic group. The atmosphere is great. There are no problems lurking. Whoever you play with, it always works.”
“Henry is disappointed”
The next question: how did Thierry Henry (the Belgian T3, red) react to the French European Championship exit?
Thorgan: “He is a little disappointed. France remains his country.”
“Would we laugh at their elimination? You don’t laugh at someone else’s defeat. Rather, I say chapeau to Switzerland, which continued to believe in it to the bitter end.”
“I was especially happy for Yann Sommer, my teammates at the time at Mönchengladbach. And I know some Swiss from Mönchengladbach. I’m happy for them.”
“I’m having a tough tournament”
Last question: what lessons can the Red Devils draw from the elimination of large countries such as France and the Netherlands?
Thorgan: “That we are going to try not to be eliminated (laughs). A European Championship is a difficult tournament. Any country can beat any country. There are no favourites, now everyone can win the European Championship.”
