Who will win EURO 2020? The CIES, center for studies on international football, has tried to make its own prediction, based on statistics. Studies show that national teams with more active players in top-tier teams have a better chance of winning trophies.
The CIES then presented its estimates, calculating the average sporting level of the clubs in which the players selected by the various national teams who will take part in this summer’s European review play.
The big favorite, unsurprisingly, is there France. The reigning World Champions are then followed by Germany, with the Spain to occupy the lowest step of the podium. Fourth England, while presenting the highest number of minutes played in high-level clubs among all the national teams. Tail lights la North Macedonia by Goran Pandev and the debutante Finland. Group F is confirmed as the most complicated group, with three teams in the top five statistically most favored.
Italy occupies the sixth position, behind the Portugal by Cristiano Ronaldo. There Switzerland, opponent of the Azzurri in Group A, is 12th, the Turkey 15th and Wales 21st. For their part, the Turks can boast the team with the lowest average age, 24.9 years, while the oldest turn out to be Sweden (despite the absence of Ibrahimovic), Belgium e Slovakia.
