“Villa Dante In Sport”: in Messina tournaments and free games for children with disabilities

The President of the Messina Social City Special Company Valeria Asquini illustrated the project “Villa Dante In Sport”, created in collaboration with the Italian Paralympic Committee and theUniversity of Messina.

The mayor took part in the meeting cateno de luca, with the commissioner Alessandra Calafiore, he prof. Giovanni Moschella representing the Rector of the University, Salvatore Cuzzocrea; Salvatore Mussoni e Francesco Giorgio, respectively, Regional President and Provincial Delegate of the CIP; Enzo Falzone e Cristina Correnti, Vice Presidents of Coni Sicily; Alessandro Arcigli, technical director of the Italian Paralympic Team of Table Tennis. Also present were the representatives of the municipal Civil Protection, the Federations and the Amateur Sports Associations that were involved in the realization of the project.

The initiative, aimed at people with disabilities and young people who find themselves in situations of hardship, is aimed at promoting social inclusion and giving the participants the opportunity to try their hand at various sports disciplines, followed by specialized technicians made available by the Cip, by the Paralympic Federations and by the local sports associations.

The sporting event will be divided into four days and will start Friday 11, from 15 to 19, inside Villa Dante, where children can practice seventeen sports disciplines from athletics to 5-a-side football, volleyball, basketball, sitting volleyball, archery, handball and more tennis, table tennis, swimming, dog lovers, sailing, windsurfing, boxing, kick boxing, muai thai, judo and skeet shooting. The event program will continue on Saturday 12, from 9 to 13; Monday 14, from 15 to 19; and will end on Tuesday 15, from 3 to 7 pm.
