VIktor Hovland places Norway in Europe with BMW International

Viktor Hovland sneaked Norway between the countries with winning golfers of the European Tour, after imposing with authority in the BMW International, which concluded in Munich. Jorge Campillo, with 15 under par, finished in third place, with German Martin Kaymer (-17), second to two behind the Nordic after a superb Sunday with 10 birdies and 64 strokes.

Of all countries with relevant population in western Europe, only Norway was left to enter its name among the winners. He made it his most exciting player, who last year already added twice to the PGA Tour, by beating Puerto Rico and Mayakoba. Added the notch of the northern country, the next European rookie points to it being Poland, with Adrian Meronk.

Hovland, 23, developed most of of his final training in the United States at Oklahoma State, by an agreement signed with the Norwegian government. He reached number 1 amateur and his career in professionalism in just two years has been brilliant.

Campillo got excited about the possibility of winning when in the absence of six holes he placed one of the young European star. However, in the moment of truth, not only did he not follow Hovland’s final arreon but he made two bogeys and stayed in third position, which is his best since the second tournament in Cyprus.

Sergio García came back on the last day repeating the 68 shots on Saturday and finished seventeenth.
