Vikings: Restructured contract for Danielle Hunter

Bonuses raining down, and the Minnesota rusher is back on the pitch.

According to NFL Media, Minnesota and Danielle Hunter have agreed to restructure the contract between them. The new deal is mutually beneficial: Hunter is getting compensation early, and the club is getting their star defender back on Tuesday morning.

Hunter is getting $ 5.600 million in signing bonuses this year. The Vikings will owe him 18 million staff bonuses for 2022. This will push the club to choose: pay Hunter around 20 million, cut him, or offer him a new deal.

Hunter’s current contract runs until 2023. He has an average salary of $ 14.400 million which is pretty cheap for Purples. Hunter was Pro Bowler in 2018 and 2019 and recorded 54.5 sacks since being selected in the third round of the 2015 draft.
