Very happy in Charlotte, Gordon Hayward wants to be a recruiter

Gordon Hayward forced free agency during the last offseason leaving Boston to join Charlotte, thus finding the makings of a “player – franchise” but with more experience than when he was in Utah.

A new great challenge that has taken up brilliantly in terms of statistics. Gordon Hayward has hit 25 points a whopping 14 times (his best one-season total since 2017) and even offered himself a career-high of 44 points against Atlanta.

“I think I’ve had a solid year. It was great the way we played and I managed to put myself in positions where I like to be with the ball, creating for others and for myself.

I have a lot of respect for Mister Borrego and the staff. I think they did a great job this year. From a basketball standpoint, I couldn’t be happier that I decided to come here, “he said in his season-ending speech.

Everything went almost perfectly until his foot injury contracted in early April, which ended his season. Another blow for the player who had to deal with severe physical problems for four years.

Add to that the injury of rookie LaMelo Ball, and it’s easy to understand why Charlotte, briefly fourth in the Eastern Conference, fell to 10th at the end of the regular season (33v-39d). But the potential is huge.

“I think the way we’ve played this season has turned a lot of heads and made a lot of guys want to be a part of it,” concluded Hayward.

“Clearly, I’ll be able to recruit! We play basketball well here in Charlotte, we pass the ball. We’re playing at a fast pace, it’s exciting. We have a bright future, I hope some guys want to join the ship.”
