Just under an hour before the start of the game, it was clear: Leon Goretzka, Jamal Musiala and Jonas Hofmann are not in the squad for the game against the world champion. Previously, several media had unanimously reported that the three and goalkeeper Kevin Trapp had left the hotel.

In the case of Goretzka, Hofmann and Musiala, it was ultimately also the trio that was not nominated for the role.
