The Playoffs – Comitê define semifinais do college football: Alabama x Notre Dame e Clemson x Ohio State

The long-awaited announcement of the latest rankings of the college football season has finally come out. The committee decided this Sunday (20) the top four that will compete in the playoffs. They are: Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Notre Dame.

With this, the semifinals (which will take place on January 1st) are scheduled. At 7pm*, Alabama and Notre Dame will face off at the Rose Bowl. Shortly thereafter, at 10:45 pm*, Clemson and Ohio State will have the 2019 rematch at the Sugar Bowl.

The choice of the fourth wave was the grand narrative of the day. Texas A&M and Cincinnati were also in the fight, but the committee opted for the one with the most “pompous” resumé. Even with yesterday’s crushing loss, Notre Dame still had better victories than Texas A&M. Cincinnati, on the other hand, didn’t even make history (it was surpassed by Oklahoma in the ranking) for being part of the Group of Five, the less prestigious set of conferences of the college’s first echelon – unlike everyone else involved.

The other New Year’s Six bowls that make up the New Year’s Six will be:

Cotton Bowl (30/12, 22h*): #6 Oklahoma vs. #7 Florida
Peach Bowl (1/1, 14h30*): #8 Cincinnati vs. #9 Georgia
Fiesta Bowl (2/1, 18h*): #10 Iowa State vs. #25 Oregon
Orange Bowl (2/1, 22h*): #5 Texas A&M vs. #13 North Carolina
