The pair Elena Vesnina and Aslan Karatsev beaten in the final of the mixed doubles at Roland Garros by Desirae Krawczyk and Joe Salisbury

Desirae Krawczyk and Joe Salisbury won the mixed doubles tournament at Roland Garros this Thursday. The American-British pair reversed the situation against Russian pair Elena Vesnina and Aslan Karatsev, 26th in the world in singles (2-6, 6-4, 10-5).

Despite an easily won first set by the two Russians, they then lacked rhythm in the second set and suffered the comeback of Desirae Krawczyk and Joe Salisbury. The American and the British thus succeed the Taiwanese Latisha Chan and the Croatian Ivan Dodig, winners of the tournament in 2019 (the edition of the year 2020 had been canceled because of covid-19).
