The Kosmos company, chaired by the FC Barcelona footballer Gerard Piqué and organizer among other Davis Cup events, opens a new business avenue with a player representation agency whose first client and represented is the Austrian tennis player Dominic Thiem.
Kosmos will offer a “comprehensive service” to athletes, taking from representation to commercial business and public relations, as well as sports, legal and financial advice to its clients, according to the company.
“We are very excited about this project. Within Kosmos many people linked to sport work for many years and specialized in different key areas in the development of an athlete’s career. We know what is important for the active player and for his future, because many of us are or have been, “said its president, Gerard Piqué.
This new division of the company will be headed by former tennis player Galo Blanco, who also becomes the agent of Austrian Dominic Thiem, current world number five and the first signing of the company, with whom he already worked in 2018 as a coach.
“I am very happy that Galo is part of the team again. He has been a very close person to me and my family, even when he stopped being my coach. The season has not started as I would have liked, I am working very hard to return at the end of 2020 level, “Thiem said.
Blanco will leave his position as Competition Director for Kosmos Tennis to dedicate himself to the new project. Albert Costa, until now director of the Davis Cup Finals, will also assume the functions of Competition director.
