Ten medals for the Club Deportivo Volante Rute in the Andalucía TTR S13 – Rute – La voz de la Subbética

Of the 55 Andalusian players registered in this Ronda venue of the Andalusian Badminton Trophy, 7 have been from Ruthenian, CD Volante Rute being one of the clubs that has contributed the most players together with Benalmádena and CB IES La Orden de Huelva.

The Rutian representatives continue with the good moment in a way that they have been showing from previous weeks and 10 metals are brought home, of which 7 you have to score the girls who managed to dominate both the individual (IF) and women’s doubles (DF) events.

En IF María Hinojosa, Carmen Baena and Sara Arenas with great effort they solved the group stage to reach the semifinals. On the one hand, there was a very even confrontation between María and Carmen from Ruté, who fell on the side of the latter. While on the other side of the box, Sara surpassed the Huelva-born Bárbara Martos. So the final was at home, and this time Sara Arenas took the championship.

In DF our representatives also disputed the final among themselves. On the one hand María Hinojosa and Margarita Jiménez and on the other Sara Arenas and Carmen Baena. Not because they were training partners, these athletes saved nothing and it was possible to enjoy an exciting final that was won by the little girls (still under 11) Arenas-Baena by a 21-18 double.

In the men’s field, the boys also played a great role. First of all, mention the debut in the Andalusian Trophy of Jose Manuel Burgueño both in individual (IM) and in doubles (DM) that he formed a couple together with the Sevillian José Miguel Calvo. Although he did not make it through the group stage, he did add experience in tournaments of this caliber.

In IM both Paco Baena as Diego Arenas They had to do their best to go from the group stage to the quarter-final table, however the draw resulted in a confrontation between the two that fell on Diego’s side. Already in the semifinals, David Carvajal of IES the Order left Diego with the bronze although the Rutian did not make it easy for him.

In DM Arenas-Baena they went from less to more and after some problem in the previous phases they reached the semifinals. This time the confrontation was against Guillermo Muñoz and Raúl Molina (Villanueva de Córdoba-Baena). The confrontation was the most exciting that was experienced in the Ronda pavilion “San Francisco”. However, the other Cordoba couple took the lead in the third set and shortly afterwards also the championship.

Unusual championship of the sub13 category in which two young athletes of the sub11 category have still shone with their own light: the Rutian Guillermo Munoz (CB La Encina) and Sara Arenas both with a double gold.
