Alexander Nübel was only called up as a replacement in four competitive games at Bayern last season

With Manuel Neuer, Bayern Munich has probably the best goalkeeper in the world in its squad. There is no getting around him. That is why substitute Alexander Nübel is drawn to the distance – and an old acquaintance is to be signed as a substitute.
Bayern Munich goalkeeper Alexander Nübel is, according to information from the German press agency, about to switch to the French first division club AS Monaco. Accordingly, the 24-year-old should complete his medical check this Friday and sign a loan agreement for two years. Previously, Sport1, Sky Sport News HD and kicker.de had reported on the upcoming deal, among others.
According to Sport1, Nübel’s predecessor Sven Ulreich is to take on the role of number two again after national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer after a year with the second division club Hamburger SV and to sign a two-year contract after the medical check.
In the third of Ligue 1, Nübel would train under former Bayern coach Niko Kovac and become a teammate of national player Kevin Volland.
Nübel still has a contract with FC Bayern until 2025
In the summer of 2020, Nübel moved free of charge from FC Schalke 04 to the German record champions in Munich. It is to be built up as a new successor in the long term. In the past season he only played one Bundesliga and one cup. He also played twice in the Champions League. Nübel would like to get more match practice and therefore preferred a loan. He still has a contract in Munich until June 30, 2025.
In order to close the gap behind Neuer, Ullreich could now return to Munich just under a year after leaving. The 32-year-old moved to the second division for Hamburger SV last year, but missed promotion with the Hanseatic League. Ulreich and HSV terminated the contract by mutual agreement after the season.
