Series of athletics circle records: Father Gilbert Schulte and daughter Christina Henke have held the best marks in the triple jump since the 1990s: Mi … – local sport

“We lived in Lüchtringen not far from the sports field. It was just part of the fact that you went to training there at the time, ”says Christina, who is now called Henke and is a mother of two herself. Even decades later, she still fondly remembers the family atmosphere among the athletics fans and the fun of sport. “The successes came almost by themselves,” says the 38-year-old with a smile. Sprint and long jump quickly became one of her favorite disciplines before she simply tried out the technically demanding triple jump at the club championships. “You could see immediately that Christina had the talent for it,” recalls coach Hans-Jörg Friedrich. In fact, the LFL was primarily home to successful middle-distance athletes. “But that wasn’t my thing at all. Short and quick – with great pleasure. Long – better not ”, says Christina Henke in a nutshell. She worked intensively on her technique and quickly jumped on and on. In 1997 it was the first time over the ten meters, fifth place at the Westphalian championships was the reward. In the autumn of the same year, the circle record jump of 10.44 meters came in Blomberg. A triple jump that no other athlete in the Höxter district has topped to this day.
