(gae / -). Now it’s official: Scottie James Jr. is moving from the Gießen 46ers to the Giants Ludwigsburg. This became apparent shortly after the end of the main round, when Ludwigsburg’s trainer John Patrick couldn’t get out of the rave about the Giessen power forward. The 24-year-old American has signed a contract with the “giants” until the summer of 2022.

Of course, there was great interest among the 46ers in keeping the athletic board player on the Lahn. Ultimately, however, they could not keep up with the offers on a financial level. The expected personal bloodletting of the Bundesliga basketball players from Gießen continues.

James Jr. impressed as a rookie right away in his first professional season with the 46ers. The powerful jumping power forward hit the BBL so much that the main round champion from Ludwigsburg is now using his services for the coming season.

»Scottie is a talented and dynamic player who got off to a good start in Germany last year and now wants to take the next step in his career with us. I’m looking forward to welcoming him and his young family to our club soon, «Patrick is quoted on the club’s website.

Strongly developed

The American came to Giessen last season directly from university, where he played for the Liberty Flames in NCCA I. The 2.04 m man was found on the floor 36 times across all competitions for Mittelhessen. In the 46ers dress he developed steadily and so he achieved an average of 11.0 points per game such as 5.9 rebounds with a playing time of 24 minutes per match. The second best rebounder in the 46ers squad achieved his best BBL score with 30 points on the last match day against the Basketball Löwen Braunschweig.
