Roberto Hernández advances to the elimination round of the archery World Cup – Diario La Página

Salvadoran goalkeeper Roberto Hernández advanced to the elimination round of the Archery World Cup on Wednesday, which takes place in Paris, France, after finishing in third place in the qualifying round with 712 points.

Hernández was only surpassed by Mike Schloesser, from the Netherlands, who finished in the first position with 175 points, and by James Lutz, from the United States, who placed second with 713.

For having finished in the first eight positions, the Salvadoran goalkeeper advanced directly to the second elimination round, so he will have to wait for the result of the duel between Martin Laursen, from Denmark and Juan Fernando Bonilla, from Colombia, to meet his next rival.

“I had a bad round, since an arrow fell in seven and I almost lost it, if it had been 10, I would have qualified first. It was very cold, the muscles do not feel in their best condition, but I focused on working my mind and feeling comfortable with my technique. This has been the second highest score that I have shot outside of El Salvador and that is why I am very happy with the result ”, explained the Salvadoran.

On the other hand, Hernández said that, despite the low temperatures, it was a great day, because finishing in third place was very satisfactory and he hopes that the same feelings that he had today will be reflected in the elimination round.
