Puribec League: the rain gets involved

The first weekend of activities in the Puribec Senior Baseball League was disrupted by the bad weather.

After the two games played on Friday on opening night, four of the five games scheduled for Saturday and Sunday were postponed due to the bad weather.

This was the case for the clash scheduled for Sunday afternoon in Rimouski where the Shaker was to receive the Escaladeurs de La Pocatière as well as for the visit of Montmagny to Trois-Pistoles.

On the other hand, the Cataractes of Grand-Sault were able to play at home winning a first victory by 2-1 against the Braves Batitech of Témiscouata. Newcomer Jordan Dryer was the winning pitcher while reliever Patrick Ouellet took the backhand. A single from Olivier Gendron at the end of the 7th inning produced the victory point.

Next game Tuesday evening at 8 p.m .: Rivière-du-Loup visits Trois-Pistoles.
