Bad Homburg comes before Wimbledon: At the WTA tournament in Hochtaunus, the world tennis elite will prepare for the Grand Slam tournament in London. The Hessischer Rundfunk accompanies the premiere edition up close.
From Sunday (June 20th) the tennis world will be looking to Bad Homburg. Then the Bad Homburg Open will begin, the WTA tournament which the tennis elite will in future serve as preparation for Wimbledon.
Numerous top players take part in the premiere event. The lawn tournament in the Kurpark features five Grand Slam champions. In addition to the German number one Angelique Kerber (Kiel), Simona Halep (Romania), Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic), Wiktoria Asarenka (Belarus) and Sloane Stephens (USA) are at the start. Andrea Petkovic from Darmstadt is already training on site.

At least 600 fans are allowed per day. Everyone else can find out everything they need to know about the tournament every day at Hessischer Rundfunk. On hessenschau.de there will always be a fresh summary of the day’s events for the entire duration of the tournament. We pay special attention to the top match of the day.

The HR will broadcast both semi-finals (Friday, June 25th) and the final (Saturday, June 26th) in a live stream. In addition, hr-fernsehen will be showing the first semi-finals and the final live.
