Penal transfer news from the Bosuil: Antwerp takes Bjorn Engels (26) away from Aston Villa. If there are no problems with the medical tests, the defender will sign a contract until 2026 and return to our country after four years abroad.

After four years, Bjorn Engels returns to his homeland. In the summer of 2017, the Club Brugge youth product left blue-black for a transfer to Olympiakos, which already loaned him to the French Stade Reims a year later, where he later also signed a definitive contract.

The last two seasons Engels played for Aston Villa. Play is relative. In total, he played nineteen times for The Villans. This season he played just one game, albeit for the U23 team.

Antwerp announced moments later that Jelle Bataille is also making the switch to the Bosuil. The Belgian U23 international and right back Jelle Bataille signs a contract until 2024. Bataille (22) made his debut at the Bosuil on April 2, 2018. He did that while playing for KV Oostende, for which he would eventually play 92 games and score four times.
