Olympia 2026 – Ski touring in five years Olympic time? – Sports

Ski touring could become an Olympic discipline. The Olympic Committee proposed that ski touring races be included in the program for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina. Now the Olympic Congress on July 20 and 21 in Tokyo will have to decide on admission.

The new sports at the Summer Games

For the Tokyo Games, the International Olympic Committee has approved five new sports, so that a total of 33 Olympic sports are represented. For the first time, competitions in sport climbing, surfing, skateboarding, soft and baseball as well as karate fights will be held.
Four more sports have already been newly approved for the Games in Paris in 2024: Breakdance, surfing, climbing and skateboarding are already a fixture at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

The 50 km run for men in athletics is also to be canceled. Instead, there will be a mixed event for women and men. In Paris, for the first time in the history of the Olympic Games, the IOC wants to ensure that the same number of women and men take part.
