The Miami Dolphins traded the third overall pick in the upcoming draft to the San Francisco 49ers for the 12e choice in total, from a choice of 3e round in 2021 and first-round picks in 2022 and 2023, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Schefter says the third-round pick involved in the deal is compensation for losing coach Robert Saleh’s services to the New York Jets.

The third overall pick originally belonged to the Houston Texans, but was acquired by the Dolphins when they gave up offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil.

Just minutes after the trade was announced, the Dolphins completed another with the Philadelphia Eagles to secure the 6th overall and 156th pick.

In return, they gave up picks 12 and 123, as well as a first-round selection in 2022.

The Eagles have two first-round picks in the bank in 2022 and could get a third in compensation from the Indianapolis Colts for the exchange of Carson Wentz.
