NBA Playoffs: Young leads Atlanta’s great comeback, Paul George is a fury and tames the Jazz

Atlanta Hawks 109 – 106 Philadelphia 76ers [Atlanta in vantaggio 3-2 nella serie]

The show staged at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia is incredible, where the hosts throw an advantage of 26 points to the winds allowing the boys of coach McMillan to seize a very heavy external success that now allows them to lead 3- 2 in the overall score of the series.

Everything seems to go according to plan for the Sixers, who close the first half on +14 (24-38) and then stretch further before the long interval (42-62).

As already anticipated, Doc Rivers’ men even go up to +26, but it is precisely then that the crazy comeback of the opponents takes place: dragged by a Trae Young with 39 points and 7 assists, Atlanta miraculously manages to raise his head taking advantage of the confusion of the hosts, who in the second half will be able to send only Embiid and Curry to the basket.

Gallinari also puts his own and shortens the distance with the triple of 87-76, with Trae Young who continues undisturbed in his show giving life to a fourth period from 40-19 for the Hawks.

Given the situation, it could not but be the star of the guests to sign the well-deserved overtaking one minute and a half from the end by converting the three free throws granted by the referees for a foul suffered by the arc.

At the final siren the Hawks party explodes, who manage to win despite a shock start and the great individual performances offered by Joel Embiid and Seth Curry, respectively authors of 37 and 36 points but betrayed behind their backs by their own teammates, appeared inadequate in the hottest moments of the meeting.

Los Angeles Clippers 119 – 111 Utah Jazz [Los Angeles in vantaggio 3-2 nella serie]

With Kawhi Leonard struggling with a knee injury that could also affect the crusader and the series of these semi-finals ready to return to Salt Lake City, this time it’s up to Paul George to take on the role of the superhero and place an outside shot crucial in view of the passage of the round, with Race-6 at the Staples Center that could sanction a qualification of the Clippers for the Conference finals which at this point would be little less than incredible.

Unlike what we saw in Philadelphia, the start of the match turns out to be as balanced as possible, with the Jazz who manage to present themselves at the mid-race break with a five-point advantage over their opponents (60-65) taking advantage of the franchise record of 10 triples sent to target during the first quarter.

At that point, however, once back on the court, Utah seems to suddenly run out of gas, allowing the Clippers to put the arrow and gain a decent advantage thanks to the partial of 32-18 recorded in the third period with the complicity of the boys of Quin Snyder, who in those twelve minutes only managed to score six baskets from the field.

Below in the score despite the air of home, the Jazz seem to feel the blow: the only one who fully believes in it is Donovan Mitchell, who with five and a half minutes from the end signs the three-point game which is worth -3 (97 -100). Nothing to do, however, for the comeback, as the Clippers respond in kind by not allowing the hosts to get closer.

At the end of the match they score 37 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists for Paul George, assisted by Morris’s 25 points and Reggie Jackson’s 22. On the other hand, space for the 32 points of Bojan Bogdanovic, best scorer of his, with Spida Mitchell who for tonight stops at 21 points with 5 assists and as many rebounds.
