The Arizona Diamondbacks broke a dismal MLB record with a 23rd straight loss on enemy courts in a 10-3 loss Thursday to the San Francisco Giants.

The day before, the D-Backs had tied the New York Mets of 1963 and the Philadelphia Athletics of 1943 with a 22nd straight loss on the road.

The Diamondbacks had an unexpected opportunity to end their black streak on Tuesday, but they screwed up a 7-0 lead to lose 9-8 to pave the way for the sad record.

A three-run Giants push in the combined second inning of three consecutive innings with one run led San Francisco to victory. On the mound, pitcher Kevin Gausman posted his eighth win of the season with six strikeouts and just four hits in eight innings of work.

The good news for Arizona is that the club’s next series of games against the Dodgers will be at home.
