Matheus Uribe, non-transferable in Porto

The good level of Matheus Uribe both in Porto and in the Colombian National Team has aroused the interest of several clubs. The Colombian midfielder has suitors in the main leagues in Europe, however, Porto considers him one of its non-transferable figures.

According to the newspaper A Bola, the midfielder, who has already completed two years in Portuguese football, is valued at 60 million euros and is liked by both the board of directors and the coaching staff. Although Italy, Spain and England are interested in signing him, the player will remain at the club for the next season.

“English, Spanish and Italian clubs are attentive to the Colombian international, but If there is a footballer in the squad who has a non-transferable label, both from the perspective of SAD and the coach, it is Uribe. With a contract until 2023 and a clause of 60 million euros that defends himself against the most daring emblems, Uribe will return in 2021/22 to play a nuclear role in the midfield of FC Porto “, published the Portuguese media.

“Perhaps Uribe has more freedom of action to get closer to rival goals, depending on the adjustment with future reinforcements in midfield and a possible change in the tactical design of Sérgio Conceição in the next FC Porto campaign“, the report complemented.

In his most recent season, Uribe played 46 games across all competitions. He scored five goals, four in the Portuguese league and one in the Champions League. He also made three assists and won the Portuguese Super Cup title, while with the Colombian National Team he has five games in the Reinaldo Rueda era.
