The Rockies backed Marquez with five runs in the first inning following a Grand Slam by CJ Cron and a solo home run by Garrett Hampson. That was more than enough for the Venezuelan dominance to consolidate.

The Rockies extended their lead to 7-0 in the sixth with singles by Raimel Tapia and Yonathan Daza.

The only three hoppy runs came in the seventh with a double from Luis Urias.
