Lario judo and Mon Club again in the medal

2 June, early wake up and away match: it seemed a normality lost by who knows how long and instead all the emotions of a judo competition returned again on the occasion of the Endas National Championships held in Riozzo di Cerro al Lambro (MI).
Palpable tension for the weight test and the pre-match, the draws of the poules and the waiting to fight, the thrill of being called and getting on the mat to play it, the concentration in the sum of moments of a fight, the wait for the next round , the bitterness of defeat, the desire to make up for it and the joy of success, all enclosed in a normal day in a sports hall for a judo competition. That opportunity for a newfound normality comes after many months of absence of competitions.
And Lario judo school and Mon Club could not miss the greedy opportunity.
Present in the multiple guise of athletes, technicians and race officials, the two youngest athletes put the icing on the cake.
Castelli Francesco (mon, -50 kg) and D’Ambrosio Pietro (Lario, -45 kg) respectively won gold medal and national title and bronze medal among the rookies A.
Catapulted into competition, with a class change that took place in the pandemic, they face the challenge very well.
Cogliati Francesco and Martongelli Alessio (seniores mon), who competed the day before, will also accumulate useful experience for the next engagements.
All four athletes contribute to the ranking by society: 31st place for the Mon Club with only 3 athletes and 20 points and 44th place for Lario judo school with one athlete deployed and a 6-point medal.
