La Punta del Sebo hosts this weekend the second phase of the National Beach Soccer League

The Patio de Garlands of the Casa Colón has hosted this Thursday the presentation of this important event organized by the Club Deportivo Fútbol-Playa Huelva with the support of the Huelva City Council and the Port Authority. This event that once again turns the Huelva capital into the epicenter of sport.

In this regard, the Councilor for Citizen Participation and Sports, María Teresa Flores, wanted to value “the ambitious commitment” of the Government team of the Huelva City Council, with Mayor Gabriel Cruz at the helm, for promoting the positioning of Huelva as Capital of Sports.

In his opinion, Huelva “is reaping historical fruits such as this year’s celebration of the Badminton World Cup, without forgetting previous milestones -such as the European Championship or the recent Huelva Spain Masters of the Badminton World Tour-, in which organizational capacity has been demonstrated. and the excellence to host top-level sporting events “.

María Teresa Flores also highlighted that they are promoting elite sport as a “sign of tourist identity, as a complement to our gastronomy, our powerful cultural offer and many other qualities that make us believe in Huelva and in its extraordinary possibilities for growth”.

For all these reasons, the Consistory has wanted this phase of the National Beach Soccer League, which will be held in Punta del Sebo, to have municipal support, as it is also a “very attractive” modality for the public, which will allow For Huelva residents to enter the competitions typical of the summer season, which are also so important in Huelva.

For her part, the president of the Huelva Port Authority, Pilar Miranda, thanked “the Huelva Beach Soccer Federation and the Soccer-Beach Sports Club Huelva for holding the second phase of the national Beach Soccer league in a A port area as emblematic as the surroundings of Punta del Sebo, next to the Monument to Christopher Columbus, since this competition will contribute to promoting this place, in addition to promoting the port’s approach to the city “.

Likewise, Pilar Miranda has highlighted the importance of coordination between the different administrations, social and economic agents, and different groups to develop joint work for the benefit of citizens.

Likewise, the president of the Huelva Port Authority has emphasized the outstanding role that “the Port of Huelva plays, as the economic engine of Huelva and the region, in creating opportunities, wealth and employment, for the benefit of citizens. . “

In this framework, the president of the Huelva Beach Soccer Federation, José Antonio Fernández, stressed that they will be able to enjoy a sporting practice that is “quite a spectacle to see live and where the best teams in Andalusia will also be competing. and a large part of the international players who will represent Spain in the World Cup of this modality “.

Likewise, this appointment is “an incentive” for many people to discover this modality and to see in action the Youth and Women’s Selection of Huelva, which will represent the city in the next Andalusian Championship that will take place at the end of this month June, as well as attending a grassroots game, such as the one that will face Recreativo de Huelva against Mentidero de Cádiz.

In this way, after last year’s stoppage due to the Covid-19 restrictions, this year this event of the Professional Football League has been retaken again in Huelva, in its Beach Soccer branch, which was also held in La Punta del Sebo in 2019. A competition that previously had a first phase in Malaga and that, after this weekend’s matches, will culminate in Cádiz.

For this reason, the president of the Soccer-Playa Huelva Sports Club, Rafael Millán, wanted to “encourage Huelva residents to, respecting the safety distance and maintaining all the prevention measures necessary at this time due to the health situation, to go to the Punta del Sebo “, because they will be able to” enjoy the excitement of the matches and a very dynamic and entertaining game in which we will be able to see the high level of sport of the participants “.

GAME SCHEDULES

It should be noted that, within this second National League Phase, two games are scheduled to take place on Saturday morning. The first will take place from 10.00 to 11.00 and the second from 11.30 to 12.30. Also, in the afternoon the competition will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

On the other hand, on Saturday, at 12.30 pm, the Huelva Beach Soccer Youth Team will play against the Seville Youth Team and, at 1.30 pm, the Huelva women’s team will face the Women’s Team of Seville.

Finally, on Sunday’s sports day a game is scheduled to be played from 10.30 to 11.30, which will face Recreativo de Huelva Infantil against Mentidero de Cádiz de Infantiles.
