Nothing can stop it. Clarisse Agbegnenou wins again this Wednesday at the world judo championship in Budapest. The Frenchwoman of Togolese origin has, in fact, beaten the Slovenian Andreja Leski by ippon in the category of less 63 kg.

The 28-year-old champion thus won her fifth world title in a row. Five-time European champion as well, she therefore becomes the most successful French judokate behind legend Teddy Riner (10 titles). And she is no longer far from the three most successful judokates in the history of the World Championships. They are the Japanese Ryoko Tani, the Chinese Wen Tong (7 titles each) and the Belgian Ingrid Berghmans (6 titles).

The Olympic runner-up will be competing at the Tokyo Olympics to try to win the gold she qualifies “Missing star”. It is indeed the only medal missing from its rich record. Agbegnenou lost in Rio in 2016 against Slovenian Tina Trstenjak.
