After the 3-3 at the end of regular time, Adrien Rabiot’s mother wondered aloud how Paul Pogba could just lose the ball to a Swiss. According to the French radio station RMC Sports, that was the start of a heated discussion in the stands.
Kylian Mbappé also received the full load from Véronique Rabiot. His father was told to make his son less arrogant. The entire scene reportedly lasted 20 minutes and other families had to calm things down.
Also on the field, things went well between Paul Pogba and Adrien Rabiot. National coach Didier Deschamps had to intervene at the start of extra time and calm Pogba.
“Paul needed some calming down after the equalizer,” admitted Deschamps. “He is a leader and wants to pull the others along. But despite everything, he should have stayed calm with one more extra time to play.”
