Internship: Senegalese badminton salutes Ivorian and Pakistani expertise

Bringing together the best badminton players is what the Senegalese National Badminton Promotion Committee (CNPBN), chaired by Tony Diandy, has done. Those in charge of this discipline brought them together through an elite course during this month (9 to 11 April 2021) in Thiès in the stadium of Lat Dior.

An added value was drawn at the end of this meeting if we stick to the Senegalese badminton officials following an evaluation made in this direction. Because these young badists went to good school to have had to benefit from the expertise of two technicians to strengthen their capacities during this internship.

“We had worked with an Ivorian level 2 coach, who is called Richard Kouakou, and a Pakistani coach who came with the Gambian Federation that we had invited. Richard’s stay was funded by the Association francophone de badminton and the CNPB. The particularity is that the method of the Ivorian coach is based on the program of the Bwf (World Badminton Federation) which trained him. While the Pakistani coach received local training.

“The young badists were very receptive. And that bodes well for a better tomorrow for the YOG 2026, ”says Djiby Guissé Diakhaté, National Technical Director of badminton in Senegal and teacher-researcher at Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis. Who believes that the presence of these two technicians was beneficial for these young badists who participated in the Thiès training course.

A “very enriching course and which made it possible to discover other training methods with two coaches of different nationalities”, welcomes the DTN who says he is satisfied with the objectives which have been largely achieved. 16 badists, aged 11 to 23, took part in this course, including a Gambian.
