Iván Loriente chatted with Básquet Total between tears of emotion for the consecration of Biguá in the Uruguayan League.
The forward’s first sensations were the following: “It is a huge pride after eight to return to the club and finish this way. It’s amazing, it’s priceless. I went through many things personally, the death of my brother, a very hard injury. But I was strong on my head and managed to keep going. This is a tremendous award ”.
Loriente took a step forward, being a starter and an important piece in a champion team: “I took the confidence that the coaching staff gave me and I was able to take advantage of it. I worked really hard for this and I was able to do it. The team helped me a lot, we deserved this, we worked a lot and nobody gave us anything ”.
Its characteristics were perfectly adapted to the place that Laginestra gave it, defense and firm footing: “I tried to defend the best of the rival and give that to the team from my role. Later in attack I was going to have clear shots because we had great players who generated for that, I felt very comfortable in the place they gave me ”.
To close, he spoke about the strengths of the Biguá champion: “We had three foreign players at a very high level. Although they were incredible and Sims was a class A, Biguá was champion for the team, there was never selfishness, we were very united on and off the court ”.
