Golf. Paul Velly, the promises of the dawn of the golfer of Lanniron Quimper – golf

Fourth last year in Saint-Samson, Paul Velly did not miss the boat this time by winning his first title of champion of Brittany among the U12s at the Odet golf course in Clohars-Fouesnant. With two cards at + 8 and + 7, the young pupil of Bertrand Coathalem at the Lanniron golf course showed the extent of his young talent, he who is index 12.5. “In Brittany, he is one of the best, is even a little ahead for his age. Nationally, it is well placed. He should succeed in qualifying for his first French championships at the end of the Interregional Merit (Mir) at the beginning of July ”, explains his coach, seduced by the qualities of the young boy.

Chess player

“He’s good, but he’s progressing well because he has a good frame of mind and likes to train. He is rigorous. And as a chess player, he knows how to be strategic. When he is in difficulty, he thus manages to make the wise choice. All of this allows him to perform well in competition with a golf course that is mature enough for his age. Bertrand Coathalem was not only delighted with Paul Velly’s victory. Five other golfers from Lanniron qualified for the Mir: Oscar Flochlay, Valentin Rivoallan and Edgar Le Cleach in addition to Paul Velly in the U12 boys, Colette Keroulas in the youngest, as well as Léo Johnston in the youngest. “These six are all part of the hopeful group set up at Lanniron”, rejoices the former professional golfer.
