Gold for Eleonora Giusti – Sport

After a stop of almost eighteen months due to the Covid epidemic, even the world of Italian judo has started competing again: on Sunday at the PalaPellicone in Ostia the reopening competition of the cadet category took place, a fundamental appointment to define the ranking for the next international commitments of the national team, which will have to participate in the European Cup, and the European Cadet Championships scheduled for August.

The race, for the current Covid regulations, was reserved only for the best Italian athletes, and for the province of Modena was attended by Eleonora Giusti (photo), athlete of the company Hidenobu Yano of Castelnuovo Rangone, who at the first experience in the 70kg category among the cadets, took home a victory that relaunches his blue ambitions. After a victory for Ippon in the first challenge, and a double success for Wazari in the quarterfinals, in the semifinals Giusti had to recover a double penalty with an immobilization on the ground, then winning the final with an excellent lever on the ground. A great result, which confirms the abilities of the very young athlete from Marano, a pupil of the master Paolo Oleari, who after a gold and a silver among the rookies, also centers the title in the higher category, endorsing the ambitions of convening the national team for the European category .
