Four people arrested in the case of the shooting in Bressoux-Droixhe

More than two months after the events, in which a 39-year-old man, a Chechen, lost his life after being the victim of a shooting, four people were finally arrested by investigators.

On April 16, a car was found trapped on avenue de Nancy in Bressoux-Droixhe and had been surrounded by hooded and armed men following a brawl between two gangs which had taken place the day before. The assailants slapped the car’s windshield and then hit the driver with a baseball bat, who had gone to the scene apparently to calm the spirits.

In his attempt to escape, he struck several parked vehicles and then was caught and shot. Two other people were injured during this altercation.

In the process, the police intercepted and deprived of their liberty 28 people who had ended up on Monsin Island. However, the search of their vehicle was inconclusive and they were released for lack of evidence against them.

The Liège public prosecutor’s office will communicate more on this file at the end of the afternoon.
