“Football allows us not to feel left out to have cerebral palsy”

Torelló“It’s not noticeable as a child, but over the years they start playing as goalkeepers, as referees and, in the end, they stop playing and their self-esteem plummets. Here they feel the same as the others, part of something and they enjoy football again. If it’s hard for them to kick with the left, they shoot with the right. If they can’t run, they walk. But they play, in short. ” This is how Pedro Sánchez, a member of the board of the Disport Smart Group-Joie, argues about the work that this football club does for people with cerebral palsy. Its headquarters are in Pallejà and it has about 20 footballers between the senior and children’s teams. It was created on October 30, 2004, the result of the frustration and helplessness of some parents who could not find options for their children to enjoy the sport king.
