Surprising news from ex-Bayern star Javi Martínez (32)!
After nine years in Munich, the Spaniard is drawn to the desert. The Qatari club Qatar SC from Doha has now published a video on Twitter in which Martínez says: “Hello to all my Qatar Sports friends, I am happy to announce that I will be seeing you very, very soon. Stay tuned.”
A surprising change for the world champion in 2010. A return to his former and home club Athletic Bilbao had actually been expected. From there, Martínez came to the record champions in 2012 for the then record Bundesliga sum of 40 million euros. But now the midfielder is continuing his career in Qatar.
Martínez’s contract with Bayern, with whom he won the triple twice, expired in the summer.
Now Martinez should help last season’s sixth player in the attack on the title. The club had previously signed Brazilian Ze Ricardo as their new coach.
