Euro 2021: Adil Rami’s funny gift to the Blues

Adil Rami doesn’t have a short memory and above all he has a sense of humor. The former international, recently an actor in the maintenance of Boavista in the Portuguese first division, sent a small fire extinguisher to each of the 26 Blues who are preparing to play the Euro (June 11 – July 11), as revealed by a journalist of RMC, of which he became one of the consultants.

Why a fire extinguisher? Quite simply to return to an episode of the 2018 World Cup in which the world champion had been one of the main actors, after the victory in the round of 16 against Argentina (4-3) in Russia.

« There were about fifteen of us in a restaurant, grandpa, he said afterwards. And when we got home, with the atmosphere, we started singing in the hallways. True to myself, I got on with my helmet, naked, and played Fortnite in my bedroom. In the hallways, it sang, it sang, and the guys were banging room by room to wake us up. I felt the storm coming towards me. As soon as there was one who had the misfortune to open his door, they would turn over the beds, things, etc. I had taken a fire extinguisher from my room. Security, you never know, against the kids… When they got home, it was Ghostbuster. »

The scene turned to disaster film. “Honestly, I was scared,” added Adil Rami. I said to myself : I’m going to get fired. At first there was smoke all over the hall. I didn’t know the fire extinguisher system. It was madness. It was a shisha. It was the Velodrome. We couldn’t see each other three feet away in the hallways. Everyone was running, singing, banging on each other… There was the alarm… Everyone left the hotel, the employees and all, Didier Deschamps also in his pajamas. When I saw him coming towards us, I said to myself: Ah, shit. And when I saw security coming, the police, the fire department, I thought: I am dead. But the coach, he turned the page without saying anything.
