“I think his physical tools are just as good as any quarterback I’ve seen. He’s someone who enjoys working. He has leadership qualities. I think the sky is the limit for someone like him“he explained according to Sports Illustrated.

Brees’ words take on another dimension when considering that during his 20 years of professional campaign he shared the grid with quarterbacks of the caliber of Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes o Ben Roethlisberger.

On the other hand, Brees indicated that the arrival of Joe Lombardi to the Chargers as part of Joe Staley’s coaching staff this is good news for Herbert. He said the club’s newly hired offensive coordinator will help develop the 23-year-old passer’s talent.

I love that he’s working with Joe Lombardi. It will bring a lot of knowledge and experience, not just to the quarterbacks but to the system. I think it’s tailor-made for Justin’s abilities and also for the tools and weapon that surround him, “he explained.

It should be remembered that prior to signing with Los Angeles, Lombardi was the Saints quarterback coach between 2016 and 2020. During that span, Brees amassed 19,455 yards, 143 touchdowns, 38 interceptions and a rating of 107.9.
