Further investigations were carried out after the terrible fall of Jacopo Mosca over the Italian Time Trial Championships. The 27-year-old from Savigliano slipped downhill, hitting heavily with his head on the asphalt, but fortunately he never lost consciousness and after the first treatments he was transported by ambulance to the hospital in Forlì.

Early examinations revealed a clavicle fracture, multiple rib fractures in the right flank, and a pneumothorax that required the placement of a chest drain. On top of that, Mosca also reported a slight head injury.

The blue cyclist was then transported to the Cesena hospital where at the end of further clinical investigations from which it emerged a second pneumothorax in the left flank which may require placement of a second chest drain, in addition to the fracture at a shoulder blade e fractures of the spinous process of two cervical vertebrae and one thoracic vertebrae and a thoracic.

The doctors will decide tomorrow, in agreement with the medical staff of the Trek Segafredo, whether to submit Jacopo Mosca to surgery to reduce the fracture of the scapula and collarbone.
