Djokovic’s first racket wins French Open Championship for the second time in his career

In the final, the Serbian tennis player with the result 6-7 (6: 8), 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 beat Stefan Cicipa from Greece in the fifth place in the match in more than four hours.

After winning two sets, Cicips came close to winning his first Grand Slam title in his career. He lost the next set and took a medical break, but it didn’t help, with the opponent winning in the next two sets.

The 34-year-old Djokovic won his 19th Grand Slam title in his career on Sunday, lagging behind record holders Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer by just one trophy. Nadal was stopped by Djokovic in the semi-finals, but Federer withdrew from the tournament due to injury.

Djokovic also became the third tennis player in history to win all four Grand Slam tournaments at least twice. Previously, only Roy Emerson and Rod Lever had such power, but no other tennis player in the last 52 years.

Djokovic has won 84 ATP titles during his career, three of them this season. He won the French Open for the first time in 2016.

Meanwhile, Cicips was the first Greek tennis player to ever play in the finals of a Grand Slam tournament.

The second Grand Slam of the season took place in Paris.
