Dennis Nawrocki moves to Gießen 46ers

Winger comes from the ProA of Science City Jena in the east hall and “will play an important role in our team”.

GIESSEN – GIESSEN (red/rd). Now things are going in quick succession at the Bundesliga club Gießen 46ers: Kilian Binapfl is coming, Isaa Hamilton is leaving, Dennis Nawrocki is coming. The winger is moving from the 2nd Bundesliga ProA from Science City Jena to the traditional club in Central Hesse and will receive a contract for two seasons, the club announced. Nawrocki is fourth player in head coach Pete Strobl’s squad for the coming season and receives number two.

46ers sporting director Sebastian Schmidt praises the newcomer: “Dennis has great qualities on and off the field. He trains and always plays with high intensity, is positive, motivating and will play an important role in our team. He defines himself primarily through his very physical and intense defense and is a proven good shooter from beyond the 3-man line. The overall package from a sporting and character point of view fits us perfectly. ”

The Braunschweiger Nawrocki was under contract with the Löwen in his hometown until 2019, for which he played 55 times in the BBl, then the 29-year-old moved to Science City Jena. In the race for the BBL ticket, the man from Neu-Giessen contributed 8.5 PpS, 3.3 RpS and 1.2 ApS in the main round and increased his points yield slightly to 8.7 PpS in the final round. “I’m very happy to be able to call Giessen my new home for the next two years and look forward to the new challenge,” the club quoted the newcomer as saying.
