IN Baloncesto Dénia Under the auspices of the Dénia Básquet Club, it has once again been recognized with the call of the youngster Gerard Sastre Escortell to be one of the players of the Valencian National Team that plays the National Autonomous Selections. A tournament to be held
June 25-29 in the Cadiz town of
San fernando.

The Dianense player, born in 2009, has a stature of
1.81 meters and for three years, being the youngest, he completed his first season together with other colleagues at the headquarters of the Technification Program of the Valencian Community Basketball Federation, which he worked in Sueca. Gerard is the
sole representative of the province from Alicante in the final squad that will travel to the tournament.

In his first juvenile year, he got to do a good number of work sessions
at the Ondara headquarters, in which seven of his teammates were also in Dénia. The Federation has counted this course with a
very limited time frame to form the alevines selections, since the restrictions began to be lifted and the Higher Sports Council decided to convene this Spanish Championship.

They were also invited to the first calls
Victor Miralles and Cinthya Pulgarín, but they did not overcome the cuts that the coaches had to decide week after week.

The list of players from the school who have achieved the merit of being included in the different selections of the Valencian Community rises with this call from Gerard to the number of
30 in the last ten seasons. A very important figure for a population like Dénia and an indicator of the strength and excellent health of this sport in the city, under the strong commitment of its city council to sport at school age.

The female and male juvenile selections have been
convened at the Joan Fuster Pavilion in Dénia Today Wednesday, at 8 pm, to do their last training and stay focused before traveling to Cádiz, where they will debut on Friday in the Spanish Championship.

From Dénia Básquet they have congratulated Gerard and thanked his family for the effort made to reach this important moment.
