David Stockton, son of Hall of Famer John Stockton, re-signs with the Guaynabo Mets for BSN

The Guaynabo Mets will bring back a familiar face for the 2021 season of the National Superior Basketball (BSN) after reaching an agreement with David Stockton.

Stockton was among the league leaders in points (21.1 PPP) and assists (5.9 APJ) last year while shooting 53% from the floor and 49% from three points. A late addition to the Mets season, point guard and son of NBA Hall of Famer John Stockton quickly established himself as the best player on a Guaynabo team that was one game away from reaching the final.

“I’m very excited to be back,” Stockton said. “The players, the coaches and the organization made it an easy decision to come back. I’m excited to finally meet the Guaynabo fans. Come on Mets! “

Stockton’s best performance came in Week 13 when he set a season record for the Mets with 40 points in a game against Mayaguez that secured a postseason berth. In the postseason in the bubble, Stockton drove the Mets to sweep Fajardo in the quarterfinal series and defeated Bayamon in the first game of the semifinals before losing the series 2-1.

The BSN season is scheduled to begin on July 8.
